Description

C-19111

– Sepia-toned photograph depicting a small wood-frame schoolhouse with a group of children and an adult posed at the entry door. Mounted within a wide mat and dark-stained wood frame. The photograph appears to be an original print rather than a later reproduction.

– An engraved campus view titled “Princeton University, 1836." The print identifies key campus structures including Nassau Hall and Clio Hall and was published and distributed by J. S. Fisher & Co. of New York City.

The print retains its printed title margin and publisher’s line and is housed in a gilt-toned frame consistent with later framing practices.

– Paper shows slight curling along edges and age toning consistent with period photography. Frame exhibits light edge wear. Overall stable presentation.

– The print shows toning and light surface wear consistent with 19th century paper, while the frame shows minor finish wear with a few chips as seen in photographs. Overall stable presentation.

– 16.5" H x 13.75" W
