Framed ink drawing titled “Corn Shocks, ” depicting bundled sheaves of corn standing in a harvested field. The composition centers on a large foreground shock rendered in bold, gestural black linework, with additional shocks receding into the distance across a sparsely detailed landscape. The artist uses strong contrast and expressive strokes to define texture and form, giving the subject a graphic, almost illustrative quality. Signed “Carol Schmidt” at lower right. Presented under mat in a wood frame, with a small engraved plaque reading “D.H.S Football 1979–80," commemorating the DeKalb High School (IL) football season.
Shows moderate wear including toning to paper, light spotting within the mat, and noticeable tearing and loss to the backing paper on the reverse. Frame shows surface wear and edge marks. Artwork remains stable and visually strong.
