A classic two-gallon stoneware bean crock featuring a salt-glazed lower body and rich Albany slip brown glaze over the shoulder and lid. The piece bears a cobalt "2" capacity mark and retains its matching handled lid, showing the utilitarian craftsmanship common to regional American potteries of the period.
Lid has some small chips and there is minor surface wear throughout.
