Each shallow bowl is formed with rounded walls and a flat foot, finished with a narrow inner band and decorated in deep cobalt floral sprays beneath the rim. The diffusion of blue across the white field reflects the hallmark flow blue glazing technique popular in the late 19th century. These bowls were intended for serving shellfish and similar delicacies, their size and form tailored to the Victorian dining table.
One bowl exhibits a small chip on the rim.
