c. 1920s-1930s; The Clark Thread Company – Newark, NJ Original box of Clark’s O.N.T. (Our New Thread) black cotton thread, complete with six wooden spools. The blue-and-white lithographed cardboard box features the company’s mill illustration along with bold typography noting: "For Hand and Machine Sewing – Warranted Six Cord." Spools are labeled with period logos and thread size, neatly housed within the original compartmented insert. Founded in 1812, The Clark Thread Company was a pioneer in cotton thread manufacturing, producing durable machine and hand sewing threads during a time when industrial textile production was rapidly expanding. Clark’s "O.N.T." became one of the most recognized sewing thread brands worldwide, with packaging and advertising designed to convey both precision and reliability.
Box shows light edge wear and faint discoloration, while interior spools remain in excellent condition with strong labels.
