Black leatherette-covered salesman’s sample case with fitted green velvet interior, used for the presentation and transport of early automobile lighting equipment and accessories. Interior lid retains original maker’s label reading “Sample Cases – A.E. Nelson Mfg. Co., 899 East 105th, Cleaveland., AutoTrunks".
Exterior shows age-related wear with edge scuffing and surface abrasions; leather handle missing and replaced by leather strapping. Interior velvet lining exhibits wear and thinning consistent with long-term use.
