C-19400
Three-piece grouping of vintage petroleum and household product tins anchored by a large Royal Gold Super Motor Oil two-gallon can. The Royal Gold example features teal and cream graphics reading “A By-Word of Lubricating Excellence, ” with original carry handle and screw cap intact; base shows pressed X-form reinforcement typical of mid-century oil cans. Accompanying it is a cream-colored Renuzit French Dry Cleaner can manufactured by Renuzit Home Products Co., Chicago, with illustrated usage instructions and caution labeling along the side panel. Completing the trio is a narrow rectangular Standard Hand Separator Oil can marked Standard Oil Company, with decorative scrollwork and industrial separator graphic on the front.
Royal Gold can shows surface rust and oxidation to the underside, scattered paint loss, scratches, and age wear throughout. Renuzit can exhibits label discoloration, minor edge wear, and light surface oxidation. Standard Hand Separator Oil can shows heavier surface rust, finish wear, and patina consistent with prolonged storage. All sold as found; contents not inspected.
