Multi-Estate Spring 2026 Auction
Lot 301:
Description
C-19336
Heavy art pottery jardinière finished in a matte green glaze with softly modeled, bulbous form and four applied loop handles spaced evenly around the rim. The body swells gently outward before tapering to a circular foot, with a thick rolled rim and subtle vertical mold seams visible along the sides. The glaze presents tonal variation from olive to deeper green, with light surface scratching and age patina that softens the finish. Interior shows mineral residue consistent with prior plant use. The base bears a very shallow impressed “450” mark, likely a mold or form number rather than a maker’s signature.
Shows surface wear, scattered scratches, and a visible rim crack extending from the upper edge inward (see photos). Additional minor glaze abrasions and kiln irregularities present. Structurally stable but with noted rim damage.
11.5” dia x 8” H
