c. 1920s; Westinghouse Electric & Manufacturing Company – Newark Works, Newark, NJ
Early electric desk fan featuring a four-blade metal assembly housed within a wire cage and mounted on a flared cast iron base. Motor plate reads “Westinghouse A.C. Motor, ” 100–120 volts, 60 cycles, Style 321347, with visible serial number. The fan retains its original aged finish with heavy surface patina throughout the cage, blades, and base. Felt remains partially present along the border of the rim of the base, but is completely removed from the bottom.
Cord is frayed near the housing and the fan has not been tested. Surface oxidation, paint loss, dust accumulation, and general wear present throughout. Base shows scattered rust and finish loss; blades exhibit age-related discoloration and spotting.
