Lot 201:
Description
C-19228
1830s teardrop-form brass powder flask featuring an embossed woodland hunting scene in relief. The central motif depicts a seated hunter beneath a tree, rifle resting at his side, with a hunting dog in the foreground and a small cabin structure visible to the right. The raised scene is framed within the rounded body, with the upper section transitioning to a tapered neck and spout assembly. Side-mounted iron suspension rings remain intact for belt attachment, and a length of leather cord is still present.
Shows age-appropriate wear including scratches, small dents, oxidation spotting, and surface darkening throughout. Embossed scene remains clearly defined despite wear. Leather cord shows age and stiffness. Spout assembly present; spring mechanism not tested. Sold as found.
