Multi-Estate Spring 2026 Auction
Lot 161:
Description
C-19177
Group of early 20th century metal ice skates and adjustable roller skates constructed of steel frames with leather strap remnants and riveted foot plates. The ice skates feature elongated carbon steel blades stamped “CARBON STEEL, ” mounted to pressed steel foot beds with heart-shaped cutouts and adjustable heel clamps. Original leather straps with buckle hardware remain attached, showing age and surface cracking.
The roller skates are cast metal adjustable models with double axle trucks and solid metal wheels with green-painted centers. The frames extend and contract to accommodate different shoe sizes via a sliding center bar. Heel plates curve upward to secure the boot, and front toe clamps remain intact. The wheels spin remarkably well for their age, suggesting solid internal bushings and preserved mechanical integrity.
Shows consistent age-related oxidation, surface rust, and wear to metal components. Leather straps are stiff and cracked from age. Roller skate wheels spin smoothly. Sold as found.
Ice Skates: 13.5” L (foot bed only) Roller Skates: 8” L (foot bed only; adjustable)
