c. 1890s-1910s; Stanley Pottery – Longton, Staffordshire, England
Flow blue oval under tray with floral decoration.
Made by Stanley Pottery, this semi-porcelain tray features blurred cobalt floral transfers arranged around the center field, framed by a scalloped rim with a rich cobalt border. The flow blue process softens the detail, creating a painterly diffusion into the white body. Traces of gilt accent the rim, underscoring its Victorian elegance. Originally intended as an under tray for a tureen or serving dish, it remains equally suitable as a small presentation platter. The molded oval shape and recessed well highlight the practical yet decorative design of Staffordshire wares from this period.
Appears to be free from chips or cracks.
