c. 1890s-1910s; Henry Alcock & Co. – Cobridge, Staffordshire, England
Flow blue sauce tureen with matching ladle and undertray in the "Touraine" pattern.
Crafted in semi-porcelain by Henry Alcock & Co., this sauce tureen set embodies the refined practicality of Victorian dining. The oval tureen rests on a molded pedestal base with scroll handles, paired with a domed lid featuring an ornate finial and ladle cut-out. Its companion ladle and fitted undertray complete the service. Each piece is decorated in the "Touraine" pattern, with blurred cobalt floral transfers framed by scalloped rims and cobalt borders, softened by the flow blue process. The ensemble demonstrates both the decorative appeal and functional elegance of Staffordshire production during the late 19th century.
Chip in the lid and a fleabite on the base of the tureen. Ladle shows some crazing.
