Notes: Part of a collection that heavily featured dogs, this print depicts a Scottish deerhound sitting in the parlor or dressing room in the home of someone who is "well-to-do, " as evidenced by the close proximity to the castle outside the window. It is believed that the dog depicted in this piece is Landseer’s own deerhound that featured prominently in his other pieces.
