This piece was once often seen in many offices as a customizable paperweight. The same body can be found online, albeit with different branding along the side. In this case, the paperweight seems to have belonged to J. G. Oberholser, a businessman in Belvidere, IL from the 1880s until the 1920s.
The item appears to be in excellent condition.
