c. late 20th century; After Sakai Hōitsu – Japan Lot of two framed decorative artworks including a signed and numbered lithograph depicting blue birds perched on a branch and a framed reproduction print titled “Iris and Mandarin Ducks, ” based on an original Edo period work by Sakai Hōitsu. The Hōitsu composition depicts a mandarin duck resting beside blooming blue irises in the Rinpa school tradition. Iris example appears to be a later collotype or lithograph reproduction mounted on board without glass. Bird lithograph signed “Frank Gee” and numbered 355/1500.

Bird lithograph exhibits noticeable fading and toning throughout image area. Frames show scattered scratches, finish wear, and edge loss. Paper backing materials exhibit age-related wear and discoloration. General handling wear present throughout both pieces.
