Vintage child’s sled constructed with stained wood slats over a bent metal runner frame with curved front and rear rails. The sled features elongated oval-form deck boards, wood grab handles, and iron support struts with remnants of gold striping decoration visible along portions of the metalwork. The streamlined form and mixed-material construction reflect practical cold-weather sporting goods design of the early-mid 20th century. The sled is presented on a custom wooden display stand included with the piece. Constructed from wood and painted metal with a low-profile body intended for snow and ice use. The aged surfaces, oxidized framework, and utilitarian construction give the piece strong decorative appeal suited to lodge, cabin, or winter Americana interiors.
Shows oxidation and surface rust to the metal framework along with scratches, scuffs, finish wear, and general age-related wear throughout. Wood surfaces exhibit scattered marks, dryness, and edge wear consistent with use and storage. Display stand shows light wear from handling and use. Overall structurally stable.
