19th century Heavily carved wooden armchair with barley twist supports, pierced crest rail, and carved figural decoration featuring winged cherubs and an eagle motif. Chair retains cane back and seat panels with carved arm supports and stretcher base. Ornamental carving and turned elements reflect the highly decorative furniture forms popular during the Victorian period.
Cane back shows significant breaks, losses, and separation throughout. Additional damage and loss visible around carved oval insert at center back. Seat cane intact with minor sagging and wear. General surface wear, scratches, and finish loss present throughout frame. Structurally sound overall.
