Cast metal figure featuring a pair of baby shoes mounted on a three-lobed base with central dish. The shoes show tied laces and soft, worn detailing typical of keepsake castings made from real infant footwear. The base includes a shallow circular well, possibly used as a small catchall, with decorative laurel-style border around the perimeter. Bottom of the piece is covered with felt. Pieces of this type were commonly produced as sentimental commemoratives, preserving a child’s first shoes in cast form.
Condition shows surface wear, oxidation, and spotting throughout the metal. Interior of the shoes shows darkened residue. General finish wear present consistent with age and use; structurally solid.
