Description

C-18026

c. 1880s-1890s; Chauncey Heagle – Johnstown, NY Large Victorian lithographed advertising broadside issued as an "Opening Souvenir" for Chauncey Heagle, a clothier, hatter, and furnisher located at the corner of Main and Perry Streets in Johnstown, New York. The image shows two women in seaside attire, one standing with a parasol and the other kneeling with a basket of flowers, framed within an ornate silver and gold embossed border. Such oversized chromolithographic trade pieces were produced as store displays or handouts to commemorate a business opening.

Paper shows minor age toning and light surface wear with some waviness visible under protective sleeve. Embossing remains bold, and colors are bright and well-preserved.
