C-19068

Group of three decorative commemorative plates representing different strands of American collectible china. The first plate features a sepia photographic transfer of the Methodist Church in Brownsdale, Minnesota, marking the church’s centennial from 1856 to 1956. The rim carries a simple banded border, while the reverse includes printed historical text describing the early Methodist congregation and its development in the town. The second plate presents a green transferware design titled "Our Nation’s Presidential Plate, " displaying portraits of United States presidents arranged in a wreath-like medallion with John F. Kennedy at the center. Surrounding portraits include presidents from George Washington through the mid-twentieth century, each labeled with name and years in office. The reverse bears the maker’s mark for Vettleson China of Alliance, Ohio. The third plate is a Norman Rockwell collector plate depicting Shuffleton’s Barbershop, taken from Rockwell’s original oil painting. Produced by Gorham Fine China for The Curator Collection as the first issue in the Rockwell Americana Series, the plate features the richly detailed interior scene of a small-town barber shop with figures gathered around musicians playing in the back room. The reverse includes full production information and limited edition numbering.

All three plates show light display wear. Minor surface marks and light residue visible on the backs from prior mounting or label adhesive. No visible cracks or major chips noted in the photographed areas.
