Description

C-19074

Mixed four-piece porcelain serving assortment featuring a variety of late Victorian and early twentieth-century decorative tableware forms. The group includes an oval serving platter with a delicate floral and gilt scroll border, a pierced-handled dessert or cake plate decorated with airy floral sprays, a lidded porcelain tureen in the Brookline pattern by Bishop & Stonier of Stoke-on-Trent, and a smaller lidded bowl decorated with blue floral motifs and gilt accents. The Bishop & Stonier tureen displays the firm’s crowned mark reading "Bishop & Stonier – Hanley – England, " a Staffordshire pottery established in the nineteenth century and known for finely decorated porcelain and ironstone tableware. Its softly scalloped body, molded handles, and pastel floral ornament reflect the refined aesthetic of late Victorian English dining services. The accompanying platter and serving plate show similarly delicate floral decoration and gilt detailing, while the small covered bowl features a compact form with a loop finial and banded decoration around the rim.

All pieces show light wear consistent with age and use including minor gilt loss, surface marks, and light discoloration visible in photographs. No major structural damage observed.
