c. 1920s; Royalton Company – New York, NY Lidded hair saver made from molded Ivorine celluloid, finished in a warm ivory tone with subtle vertical striation meant to simulate carved bone or ivory. The circular form consists of a shallow base and fitted lid pierced with a central opening, designed to collect hair during brushing for reuse or disposal. The underside bears the stamped maker’s mark reading "IVALUER ROYALTON, " consistent with Royalton’s early cosmetic and dressing-table accessories. The Royalton Company produced a range of vanity and personal grooming items in the early 20th century, specializing in celluloid and Ivorine goods marketed as affordable, hygienic alternatives to natural materials.
Shows light surface wear consistent with age. Minor adhesive residue present on the underside; otherwise clean and intact with no cracks or warping observed.
